At Heididorf, we are very orientated around providing generations both young and old, in groups with an enriching educational experience. Heididorf offers guided tours and workshops, for groups of all ages. Let your discovery run wild and experience, as a group, where Heidi lived, slept and ate. Get to know our medicinal herbs on a herb stag and make your own healing ointment. Immerse yourself in the unique story of Heidi and get involved.
Use the day and discover Heidi’s house, the mountain hut and the museum “Johanna Spyri’s Heidi World” by yourself before or after the course. The trip to the original Heididorf is guaranteed to be an enriching experience for the whole group, and a great day out!
Guided Tour through the Heididorf
As a guest at Heididorf, your curiosity will run wild, and you will begin to question “who was Johanna Spyri and how did this unique Heidi story come about?” “How did people live around 1880 and how did they experience everyday life?”
Together, with the premises of the winter house you will discover where Heidi lived, through an enriching experience. After a short 2 minutes walk on the mountainside, you will learn more about the Alp lifestyle and finally relax in Heidi's wonderful hay bed.
Guided tours are offered in: German, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and other languages.
Making Cheese in the Mountain Hut
In the mountain hut, you’ll come across the smell of fine smoke rising from the finely cut wood burning away, under a large saucer filled with the finest milk. This milk begins to boil, under the watchful eye of a cheese maker, who will show you, how the traditional production of cheese took place during Heidi’s grandfather's time. You, will have the enriching opportunity to make cheeses, and take them home at the end!

Heidi’s Herbs
Get carried away into the world of medicinal herbs, which were used during Heidi's times. On a walk through rich meadows, abundant with flowers, you will discover the wild herbs that live on our doorstep, they will also learn more about their benefits and then stir their own healing or cosmetic ointment. You will then have the opportunity to individually move through the fragrant herb garden.

Taste some of our outstanding Maienfelder wines with a perfect view! Enjoy a wine tasting with a local winemaker directly at the Heididorf.
